Marquee Replacement

The reconstruction of Flournoy Lucas Road is well underway. Our frontage and entry has been torn out as planned. Our last board meeting was dominated by discussion of what will replace our sign and how our front will look when finished. Several proposals were acquired and a committee was sent out to look at other neighborhood frontage and signage. They reported, that by far, the proposal that was recommended to the board was the best, and exceeded the appearance of other neighborhood frontage that was visited.

After receiving a summary of cost of marquee replacement, it tells us that we can achieve the replacement of the sign, provide necessary landscaping, upgrade lighting and any necessary paving, staying within the budget allowed from money received from state for the sale of our frontage. We will request more quotes for final outline and detailed drawings will be made of the marquee. A time frame has not been set, but we hope to have every thing ready to go when the state pours the final concrete. In the meantime, let me compliment each of you on the way you have handled the inconvenience...dirt, gravel, bumps, mud, improper lighting and in one case car damage. Well done, I am proud of you.

President, APHA
